A family vineyard in the northern Rhône
14 hectares of Syrah on granite above the river, three wines, and four rooms in the old farmhouse.
Fourth generation
Fourth generation since 1921, the family farms 14 hectares of Syrah on the granite slopes above the river. The grapes are picked by hand and the wine is made in the cellar under the house; most of it leaves through the cellar door.

The terraces face south-east over the river. Granite under the vines keeps the roots dry and the yields small, so every bottle starts with less, picked later.
Granite holds the day's warmth and gives it back to the vines at night.
Cellar door
Between the barrels, poured by whoever made the wine that year: the Saint-Joseph, the Condrieu and the rosé. A piece of the slope's granite sits on the table beside them.
A red, a white and a rosé, all from the one slope.
The guesthouse
Stay the night above the cellar: lime-washed walls, linen, breakfast from the village bakery and the vines at the window. Four rooms from €160 a night; the names and rates below are samples until the owners confirm them.
