How it works

From shoebox to filed in four steps

  1. Hands sorting a client's statements and a clipboard of figures on a desk
    01

    Send us the shoebox

Upload papers or drop them at Queen Square. Messy is fine.

  2. Ruth talking a client through the fee over coffee
    02

    Fixed fee in 48 hours

We list what we'll do and what it costs, in writing.

  3. A client signing the summary of their figures at a table
    03

    You check, then sign

A one-page summary before anything goes to HMRC.

  4. A client smiling at her laptop as the filing receipt arrives
    04

    Filed, with proof

HMRC's receipt in your inbox and next year's dates in your diary.

Before you call

Questions we hear every January

Got an HMRC letter today?

Send us a photo of it. We reply the same working day.

Send it to us
Is the first call really free?

Yes. Twenty minutes on the phone or at Queen Square. We tell you what you need, and what it costs, before you commit.

I've missed the 31 January deadline. Can you help?

Yes. We file as soon as we have your papers and can often appeal the £100 penalty if you had a reasonable excuse.

Does Making Tax Digital affect me?

From April 2026 it covers sole traders and landlords earning over £50,000, and over £30,000 from April 2027. We set up the software and file quarterly.

When should we start planning for inheritance tax?

Ideally in your sixties, while gifts still have time to pass the seven-year rule. It is never too late to check your will and allowances.

Do you work with clients outside Bristol?

Yes. About a third of our clients meet us by video, from Bath to Cardiff.
